Dementia Connect

The Project

Dementia Connect is project centred around the design of a Creative Economy Health and Wellbeing Hub. From creative-tech- assisted cognitive therapy to the design of hospital environments; arts-enabled wellbeing practices to the design of end-of- life care  we see a rich potential for arts and cultural interventions in healthcare arising through collaboration between academic researchers, creative producers, designers, businesses and healthcare providers.

Central Focus

This hub builds on the core learning developed in the AHRC’s previous Hubs programme and brings together expertise from across all four Hubs. Our core objective is to bring this learning to new audiences and stakeholders, working with them to co-design a Hub model tailored to the particular innovation environment of healthcare-related work.  We are currently establishing a network of key stakeholders committed to delivering innovative cross-sector project work that demonstrates the potential for arts and creative technology in this sector. Although our primary focus is arts and cultural interventions in dementia  we recognise the wider applicability of this work to Culture, Health and Wellbeing themes and [digital] creative industries
