Tom Mitchell

Tom Mitchell is a digital artist and computer scientist working with sound technologies to enable creative expression and scientific representation. He is appointed as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Creative Technologies at UWE, Bristol, where he teaches music technology and leads the Creative Technologies Laboratory. Tom is a member of the CSRC, DCRC and BRL, visiting scholar at the University of Bristol and resident at the Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio where he collaborates on a range of interdisciplinary research projects combining science and the creative arts including Isomorph, Figuring, danceroom Spectroscopy and Transmission. Tom is also co-founder of mi.mu gloves, a technology startup enabling musicians to compose and perform through movement and gesture.
